Justin F. Kimball Knights end successful season in loss to B. F. Terry Rangers in state championship game

Justin F. Kimball Knights play B. F. Terry Rangers in 2013 State Championship Game

Congratulations to the Justin F. Kimball Knights boys basketball team on ending another successful year. The Knights received the silver medal for placing second at the 4A state championship finals. The final score was 55-47 but the game was very close at the end.

The Kimball Knights held a lead at halftime but the Terry Rangers (Rosenberg) found a way to win in the final minutes of the second half. The first half was won by the Kimball Knights. The second half was won by the B. F. Terry Rangers.

McDonald's All American senior guard Keith Frazier finished the game with 24 points.

The Kimball Knights boys basketball team returned to the 4A final state championship game for the third straight year - a very difficult thing to do.

Our thanks to Coach Royce "Snoop" Johnson and his staff, Principal Earl Jones and all of the student athletes for another successful season.

Each of these students has a story to tell, a lifetime, however brief, of experiences, a history in volumes whose richness and depth I can barely begin to fathom. And so as I absorb the first glimpse of these young charges, I must appreciate the extent of my responsibility, of the privilege I’ve accepted in presenting these young souls my special knowledge. In offering them my talent and passion, I am adding an enormous array of new bright stars to the vast firmament of their minds, stars that will never have time to fade in their lifetimes. I will be part of their story. And I know that each of them will always be part of mine. And that’s a good feeling, a feeling that is perpetually renewed, revisited, and rewritten in A Teacher’s Creed."
