Justin F. Kimball High School students honored for AVID participation success and college scholarships

AVID Honorees
This was another rewarding year for Kimball High School students enrolled in AVID --Advancement Via Individual Determination. AVID is a college readiness system for elementary - higher education.  It is designed to increase school-wide learning and performance.
More than a program, the academic elective AVID is a philosophy:
Hold students accountable to the highest standards, provide academic and social support, and students will rise to the challenge

College scholarships and honor tassels were presented to AVID seniors. All students received special recognitions and awards, including several peer-selected honors.
2012-2013 AVID Site Team
Photographer Darren Lucas inspired students with personal stories using the program theme, Dedication, Destination and Determination.

Tamika Stevenson, AVID Coordinator/Elective teacher and her 2012-2013 AVID Site Team planned and implemented this quality dinner program, held at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Banquet Hall.

Parents, relatives and students experienced an evening of excitement and elegance while learning more about AVID--a Decade of College Dreams.

Earl Jones is principal of Kimball High school, and Kimball Knights are AVID fans.
