18 Dallas ISD seniors at Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy earn degrees from Cedar Valley College

This evening there were hundreds of graduates marching in the 35th Annual Commencement for Cedar Valley College,Dallas County Community College District. Among them were eighteen excited seniors from Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy. 

Two weeks before officially receiving a high school diploma, scheduled June 6, 2013, these soon-to-be Gilliam Graduates already have an Associate Degree in hand.  They are prepared and eager to enter the junior year of college study.

By enrolling in the Early College High School experience at
Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy, students have the opportunity to earn college credit, a two-year college degree, scholarships and a seamless transition to participating colleges and universities.
Graduation Ceremony

Roland Martin -- nationally syndicated columnist, TV One Cable Network commentator, CNN Analyst -- was the Keynote Speaker.

The Pipes and Drums of the Fort Worth Scottish Rite led the processional.

The Commencement was held at the Inspiring Body of Christ Church (IBOC) where Rickie Rush, D.D. is pastor.

Dr. Jennifer Wimbish is President of Cedar Valley College.

Principal Gayle Ferguson Smith is campus leader at Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy.
