New Teacher Evaluation System information presented at Carter High School

A group of parents, teachers, librarians, administrators and community stakeholders attended the Dallas ISD New Teacher Evaluation System meeting held in District 6 this evening.

The 6:00 p.m. orientation, lasting just past an hour, was held at David W. Carter High  School.

District Management Council (DMC) was awarded a contract in June to develop the New Teacher
Evaluation System. Senior Advisor on the DMC Consulting Team, Dr. Abe Saavedra facilitated the meeting.  Dr. Saavedra is a former Superintendent of Houston ISD.

During and after the presentation, audience members were able to participate by asking questions and making comments.  Awareness that Dallas ISD will invest $2,000,000 in this project to develop a New Teacher Evaluation system sparked intense interest in purpose, design and implementation.

To find out more about what has already happened in the process, what is currently going on and future project plans, as well as to review the power point presentation, go to Dallas ISD.org and then click on New Teacher Evaluation System
